Before you hire a wedding photographer, you will want to ask lots of questions! Below are a few frequently asked questions that will help you determine if Erin Elizabeth Photography would be a good fit for your wedding. Let me know if you have a question that I should include on this list.
What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?
Erin Elizabeth is less traditional, more candid, more photojournalistic, very artistic, yet classic, very creative, and always very relaxed! I take the approach that it is ultimately my job to capture and tell the story of your wedding day. It is likely that I will use a combination of photographic techniques to accomplish this goal.
Do you shoot in color or black and white? Or both? Do you shoot in a digital format that can create both color and b/w versions of the same picture?
Erin Elizabeth shoots exclusively in a digital format, and can therefore create color and black and white versions of any given image. Although there are benefits to using film, Erin has made the creative decision to use all Canon Professional-quality Digital Photographic equipment. This gives us the creative leeway to make additional creative enhancements to images after we take them.
What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?
At your Wedding Consultation we will definitely go over the kinds of photos that you “must have!” I absolutely encourage your input on the shots ahead of time. I do suggest that you hand over control on the wedding day to Erin Elizabeth, and enjoy your wedding! You will not need to worry about the photos, we’ll take care of it!
Are you the wedding photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?
This is a common question that should and MUST be asked of all photographers, especially at large studios. Erin Elizabeth is the primary photographer and will definitely be the one to photograph your wedding! She is not a photography broker and will not pass your wedding along to someone else.
Can we meet any assistants who will also be our taking pictures?
Yes, definitely! I do work with another professional photographer or two who may be employed as a Second Shooter during your wedding. If you decide you would like to have a Second Photographer, you WILL meet them before the wedding!
How many other events will you also photograph that weekend?
This is a VERY IMPORTANT question! Many photographers book upwards of 100 weddings per year, which can mean that you are only one of three or even four weddings being covered over one summer weekend! Erin Elizabeth does not book more than one wedding per weekend. This allows a very personal connection between you and your photographer, and more attention before, during and after the wedding. We are not a bulk studio, and Erin prides herself on the absolute high-quality of the photographs she takes!
What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?
Because Erin Elizabeth uses a storytelling approach to your wedding day, she does not bring intrusive lighting equipment to the event. This intrusive equipment is not only intrusive to you and your guests, but it can prevent moments from happening, which severely disrupts to flow and spirit of the day. Erin is a fly on the wall for most of the day, and will blend into the wedding as much as possible.
Can we buy the negatives from you?
Yes. Digital Negatives in the form of High-Resolution Images on Disc are available with any wedding event. With the purchase of these Digital Negatives, you also receive the Printing Rights to the images.

The most important things to ask yourself now are:
Do I like this photographer as a person? Keep in mind that you will most likely spend the entire day with her!
Do I get along with them or get a good feeling from them?
Do I like their work as a wedding photographer? Is it well lit, focused, well framed?
Looking at their books, do I feel like I have a good feeling for the wedding?
