It makes it easy to choose between different colors of clothes in the morning, or what color to paint your nails. Sometimes, however, it becomes an unhealthy obsession with all things of that color: in my case Blue. Notice the blog, logo, and website are all blue. I just got these glasses from Cost Plus (such a cool store…) and am utterly smitten! Please forgive the photographic indulgence in my coolly colorful goblets now adorning my kitchen counter as I attempt to find a place to put them…

I’ve been learning very quickly that the business of being a wedding photographer, or a photographer at all is cut-throat. I had always hoped that my fellow photographers and I would band together to help each other, and become friends and peers, but it isn’t so. I thoroughly appreciate the Blog of wedding photographer Jasmine Star, because she does share the knowledge that she has regarding her wedding business and techniques. She obviously doesn’t respond personally, but I wish more photographers would be like that. I’m still relatively new to wedding photography, and would love to have a mentor, but it seems like established photographers are too engrossed in their own businesses to help out the newbees. Obviously not all photographers operate this way, but there is just SO much competition, everyone gets really… icky… really fast.


I hate that I have to be so cautious with other photographers in case they were to sabotage my efforts, say that I don’t have the best equipment, or that my photography skills are sub-par.


The last thing I EVER want to do is have to proverbially fight over potential clients. I will probably not make it far in this business because of it. Oh Ben… Oh Jerry, bring me comfort in the shape of a pint of Banana Split and a spoon! Bring me the ice-creamy goodness to comfort my woes, and inspire my desire to succeed once more!
